The underlying flavor profiles are based on the Specialty Coffee Association’s Coffee Taster’s Flavor Wheel, which in turn is based on the World Coffee Research Sensory Lexicon. The TC1 Cocoa variant focuses on velvety, sweet, and darker flavor notes, such as those often found in many coffees from South America and darker roast profiles.

The shape of the cup was developed to specifically support the sensory experience during tasting and to make certain flavor notes easier to perceive. This makes the TC1 ideal for specialty coffee fans at home as well as for comparative tastings of different coffees.
