Fair trade espresso beans

Espresso from CAPTN Coffee

Like our coffee beans, our espresso beans also come from fair trade, direct trade with small farmers in Central and South America. They are organically grown there and impress with their superior quality here in Germany. Here in Hamburg, the espresso beans are gently roasted in a drum roaster. This makes the espresso beans particularly aromatic, low in acid, and gentle on the stomach. After roasting, they are lovingly hand-packed and shipped to your home. Convince yourself of the quality of our CAPTN Coffee espresso beans and order your favorite variety conveniently to your home.

Preparation methods for your espresso beans

Does your perfect morning start with an espresso? Then you have a wide choice when it comes to preparing your morning hot drink. Preparing it with an espresso maker, also known as a stovetop espresso maker, creates a true Italian flair in your own home. With our preparation tips, you can make the perfect espresso every day. The portafilter machine is the preferred method for preparing espresso. But even for the home barista, making the hot drink is no problem with our tips. With this preparation method, too, practice makes perfect. For a beautiful crema, which is what makes the espresso perfect, you should use an espresso with a portion of Robusta beans. However, this only works when sufficient pressure is built up during preparation. Therefore, a portafilter machine is best suited for making an espresso with the perfect crema.

If you'd prefer a simpler approach, a fully automatic coffee machine is the perfect choice. These prepare espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and more at the touch of a button. Some models also allow you to customize the brewing intensity, grind size, and brewing temperature.

No matter which preparation method you prefer, you can get the right products for preparing your espresso as well as the necessary espresso beans from us at CAPTN Coffee.

Questions & Answers

What is the difference between coffee beans and espresso beans?

A crucial difference between coffee and espresso beans is the roasting process. While coffee beans are naturally light, espresso beans only become darker with increasing roasting time, thus becoming espresso beans. This gives espresso beans a significantly more intense aroma than coffee beans. Thanks to the longer roasting time, the beans also lose their acidity, making them easier on the stomach than coffee beans.

Which is the best espresso bean?

Which espresso is best depends primarily on your personal taste. There are many differences between the different types of espresso. This starts with the type of bean. While Arabica beans have a milder flavor and are therefore primarily used for filter coffee, Robusta beans are naturally strong. Often, a blend of the two is used for espresso. This is also the case with our varieties from CAPTN Coffee. You're guaranteed to find the best espresso beans for your taste. And if you're unsure which variety is right for you, you can try our sample packs across our range and find your favorite beans.

What makes a good espresso?

A good espresso is characterized by a 2-3 mm thick crema that is hazelnut-colored and very dense. If you sprinkle sugar on the crema of a good espresso, it will slowly sink and then reform. The espresso should taste great with an intense, robust aroma and the typical roasted flavor. Furthermore, you can also detect flavor nuances such as chocolate, vanilla, or cocoa in exquisite espresso beans. For an aromatic, intense taste experience, you should always enjoy your espresso hot.
